Manufacturing Welding Engineer Jobs in New York

Seven years minimum experience in managing structural steel manufacturing. Experience with automated storage and retrieval systems, warehouse structures, etc. is ideal.

Should be very knowledgeable about assembly and welding of steel structures.

Degree in industrial, mechanical or business administration is preferred.

Familiarity with enterprise resource planning systems is expected.

· Develop manufacturing policies that help the company improve its competitive position and profitability.

· Formulate plans for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations.

Create and maintain weld qualification reports, procedure specifications, and work instructions.

Bachelor's degree in Welding, Metallurgical, Materials Science, Mechanical, or Mechanical/Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited program, or relevant technical work experience.

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in welding engineering or a similar field.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication abilities, both technical and non-technical.

Analyze welding processes for efficiency and effectiveness.

Research, maintain, and develop material standards as well as metal selections that meet requirements

Train and certify welders, weld/braze operators and weld/braze inspectors to AWS D17.1/AWS B2.2, and maintain current certifications and activity records

Establish, maintain, review and approve all welding procedures, PQR’s and supporting qualification documents

Degree in Welding Engineering (preferred) or Material Science with minimum 5 years of experience in welding manufacturing environment.

Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

Experience in plating and metal finishing a plus.
