Manager Area Cement Jobs

Assist the Cement Field Supervisor with supervisory duties (i.e., performance management, corrective action, training, defining daily priorities, creating work schedules, etc.)

Perform quality control checks throughout job to ensure customer job requirements are met

Minimum 2 years’ experience working in cement equipment service operations, required

Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to give and follow directions in English

Proficient math skills, able to perform calculations

Has a mechanical aptitude and knowledge of safe hand tool use

Reports and corrects any unsafe or questionable areas and practices to management as soon as possible.

Ensures plant operations, quality control and production by designated crew meetings or exceed the requirements outlined by the Plant Manager.

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education or experience preferred.

Plans and manages the execution of outages

Must maintain and manage department budgeting process

Strong written and verbal communication skills with all levels of the organization

Process engineering experience doing things like air flow measurements, heat and mass balancing, etc.

Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build consensus and confidence

Analyze equipment shutdowns and make recommendations for operational and control changes, and follow up on implementation of agreed upon changes

BS in Chemical Engineering preferred. If have process background, then Mechanical or Industrial Engineering BS degree is good as well.

Able to develop long-term solutions for repair and maintenance problems

Monitors adherence to safety program policies and procedures in the plant and reports discrepancies to plant management.

Coordinates safety information to inform management and production managers of new issues.

Work with senior management to establish goals, metrics, and priorities for safety across the organization and manage the safety metrics.

Works with management and production management to minimize lost time accidents and reportable accidents.

Attends industry-specific meetings to discuss and update management on issues, concerns, trends, and enforcement actions arising in various geographic areas.

Experience and abilities you will need:

Department Management experience in multiple areas

Responsible for the day to day performance of the Plant within Production and Maintenance.

Responsible for the safety and health of employees, contractors, and visitors within his areas of responsibility.

Responsible on a monthly and yearly basis for the Plant’s performance against the approved operating budget and forecasts.

Ensures operating compliance to all governmental regulations and permits.

Develop and follow up on environmental objectives to achieve business objectives

Experience with various lab equipment and testing including:

Develop techno-economic models to evaluate different process pathways for making beneficial use of processing byproducts

Interface with 3rd party vendors or companies to plan and execute pilot trials and accelerate commercial deployment.

Develop Standard Operating Procedures for material processing and development of different mix designs.

Particle Size Analyzer & Sieve analysis

Performing Atterbergs limits, proctors, and numerous other geotechnical soils testing.

Must have knowledge of safe hand tool use

Assist in rig up, rig down, and other basic functions of cement operations on site

Ensure the yard is well maintained and kept clean

Perform light maintenance duties involving basic hand tool usage

Ensure company vehicles are clean and maintained

Current valid drivers license and a clean driving record, preferred

First Shift ( Monday through Friday from 07:00am to 04:00pm )

Applicant may be subject to a background check

Pre-employment drug screen (Excluding THC) is required as a condition of employment

3 years: Conducting refractory selection and installation in a leadership capacity;

5 years: With Kiln and Mill operations;

2 years: Managing cement plant workers; and

1 year: Engaging in cement plant shutdown planning and execution.
