Job Description

Production Cement Manager -.5M - 1M Tons Facility


Job Summary

Supervise and coordinate the activities of varies personnel involved in the daily operations of the plant as directed by the Plant Manager, to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.


Job Responsibilities

  • Insures and participates in RCA meeting to prevent repeating failures
  • Ensures the completion of required documentation to complete the job.
  • Trains and motivates employees to work safely and productively.
  • Must maintain and manage department budgeting process
  • Reports and corrects any unsafe or questionable areas and practices to management as soon as possible.
  • Validates the required production reporting at the end of each shift.
  • Wears proper safety equipment while on plant grounds.
  • Ensures plant operations, quality control and production by designated crew meetings or exceed the requirements outlined by the Plant Manager.
  • Plans and manages the execution of outages
  • Authorizes work schedules, overtime and time-off as permitted by the needs of the department and in accordance with company policies.
  • Adheres to all OSHA and MSHA rules and regulations at all times.
  • Meet or exceeds company safety standards.
  • Determines when process parameters need to be altered to increase reliability, throughput or reduce/increase labor.
  • Ensures the safety and well-being of all employees, contractors and visitors to the plant, including but not limited to, that all employees have the correct PPE, providing training for employees on assigned shift and complying with all MSHA and company safety.


Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work scheduled hours
  • 5-10 years of cement experience (production experience strongly preferred).
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education or experience preferred.
  • Ability to work extended hours, occasional evenings or weekends or take calls after hours, evenings, weekends or holidays.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate with others written or verbally.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Result oriented, identifies issues and drives the decision process
  • Tobacco free environment
  • Must wear protective equipment while at the location
  • Strong networking, interpersonal and teamwork/collaboration skills
  • Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors.
  • Ability to use a computer, MS Office Software, email and operation software


Working Conditions

  • Frequent standing, sitting, squatting and walking
  • Extreme temperatures
  • Computer, radio, phones, SAP, other required software.
  • Lifting and moving 50+ pounds
  • Working at heights greater than two stories
  • Working knowlege of Microsoft Office Suite products

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment
  • Must pass physical screening, hearing test and drug/alcohol screen
  • Must be capable of working at heights and confined spaces
  • Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
  • Heavy Work-Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds or force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
