Overview A Maintenance Apprentice is a person who is in the process of learning how to maintain and repair a variety of equipment and machinery. They are typically employed in industrial settings, such as factories, warehouses, and other large-scale facilities. Maintenance Apprentices are typically supervised by experienced maintenance personnel and are expected to learn the skills necessary to become a fully-fledged maintenance technician. Detailed Job Description Maintenance Apprentices are responsible for assisting experienced maintenance personnel in the repair and maintenance of a variety of equipment and machinery. This includes performing basic maintenance tasks such as lubricating and cleaning parts, replacing worn or broken parts, and performing basic repairs. Maintenance Apprentices may also be responsible for troubleshooting and diagnosing problems with equipment, as well as performing preventative maintenance tasks. Job Skills Required Maintenance Apprentices must have a basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, as well as a good working knowledge of tools and equipment.
