1st Shift Maintenance Apprentice

• Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts, following specifications or blueprints, using precision measuring instruments and handtools.
• Supports SPECS, MOS, TQM, and Safety programs and participate on problem solving teams. Also responsible for practicing good housekeeping standards.
• Authority to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformitites relating to product, process, and quality system.
• Schedules and attends classes as outlined in Apprenticeship Agreement curriculum.
• Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment, using electrical and electronic test equipment.
• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery, using rags, brushes, and grease gun.
• Assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
• Observes and listens to operating machines to diagnose machine malfunction and determine need for adjustment or repair.
• Performs other essential functions as assigned.
• Repairs and maintains the physical building structures.
