Frequent reaching, gripping and keyboard use/data entry.

Prepares and positions patients and selects exposure factors under direct supervision.

Actively participates in providing orientation and training for new hires and students ensuring that procedures are performed according to set standards.

Prioritizes exams with scheduling exams to ensure smooth workflow, minimize wait times and address stat requests.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

Licensed Radiographic Technologist by IEMA. -CPR certification -ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certified. -CT certification within one year of hire

Physicial Requirements and Working Conditions:

Completes required continuing education as needed in order to maintain ARRT and Iowa Permit to Practice.

Minimum, 1 year experience in CT or CT dedicated program - Preferred

Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), within 12 months of hire - Required

Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), within 6 months of hire - Required

Possesses the knowledge of growth and development of patients across the life span (i.e., neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric).

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of radiology technology required. Continuing education in specialty area preferred.

Experience: None required. Minimum of one year experience as a CT Technologist preferred.

Coordinates and assists the care of patients assigned in collaboration with other CT scan technologists, physicians, nurses and allied health staff.

Evaluates patient condition in order to adequately perform CT scan exams.

Informs and explains procedure to be performed to patient and what is expected in terms of his/her cooperation.

Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a PET/CT and CT Technologist – Required

CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) through NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board) or

Completion of accredited Nuclear Medicine program and California Licensure- Required

Completion of ARRT-CT - Required

Nuclear Medicine Technology - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Required

CT technologist must maintain the knowledge to operate different CT Systems at multiple locations.

Maintains working knowledge of pharmacology to ensure lab results are obtained prior to scheduled exam.

Maintain knowledge of physiology needed to produce quality scans when ideal conditions cannot be met.

Maintain knowledge of physics to lower patient dose on CT scanner.

Obtains CT images according to established protocols.

Interpret technical factors to increase quality or speed of scan.

One (1) year of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.

Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and congenital/acquired pathology.

Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area.

Knowledge of Imaging processes and fluoroscopic techniques, methods and equipment.

Knowledge of methods of positioning patients.

Knowledge of principles of image processing and development applicable to diagnostic imaging.

Recent work or clinical education experience in CT

Work or clinical education experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center

Has knowledge of and applies CT safety precautions to minimize or eliminate risks to patients, personnel, and equipment.

Has knowledge and understanding of key Service Excellence principles for interaction with patients and staff.

Successful completion of two-year or other approved program by Joint Review Committee in Radiologic Technology Education is required

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

Assists Radiologic Technologists during the imaging process.

Current RT student and/or eligible for registry.
