Minimum 3 years of personnel management experience preferred

Work closely and effectively with the laboratory management to ensure all support systems are properly operating

Assist in the management of the laboratory budget and lab vendor contracts as appropriate

Other duties as assigned by management

Manager, Laboratory Support Services responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Provide overall direction for the laboratory support, specimen logistics, data entry and client services.

Strong interpersonal and customer management skills.

Minimum Required Education And Experience

Will establish regular lines of communication with sites to manage on-going project expectations and issues.

Will assist in training of less experienced staff.

Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and the company systems, or equivalent experience with similar Centralized Laboratory systems preferred.

To take on additional responsibilities to enhance the overall PM Team tools and Practices, as defined by Management.

Represent Project Management at internal interdepartmental meetings or interdivisional meetings within ICON.

To manage studies in accordance with Good Clinical Practice.

To attend and represent ICL at Client meetings.

To be successful in the role, you will have:

Department Specific Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

Participates in the development and implementation of an operations budget to ensure compliance with organizational expenditure requirements.

Expert technical and operational knowledge of pathology services, operations, and workflows and understanding how these factors impact other department operations.

Demonstrates solid clinical proficiency and knowledge to effectively plan and coordinate patient services consistent with applicable laws, standards, and regulations.

Minimum 7 years of relevant experience

Minimum of four years laboratory experience. CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE

Supervises Managers/ Coordinators and staff of the division.

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

Must show documentation of successful completion of a Clinical Laboratory Science training program.

Specialist eligible. (Chemistry (SC), Hematology (SH), Microbiology (SM), Blood Bank (SBB)

The Director of Laboratory Services reports directly to the Vice President, Ancillary Services.

Establishing agreed risk management plan.

Assurance of project’s compliance aspects based on project’s and business requirements. Setting timelines, milestones and budgets.

Monitoring progress of activities and budget against project plan. Determining, and ensuring appropriate action upon critical path tasks.

Driving decision making, inside and outside of the team. Identifying and ensuring resolution of conflicts and problems.

Continuously seeking process improvement and implementation. Ensuring quality and compliance throughout the development process.

Performs additional relevant responsibilities as requested by management.

Provide Sponsors with study management reports. Provide client with support on ICOLabs system. Inform team leader about study progress.

The Role: Project Manager, Laboratory- Portland, OR- Hybrid

Enter protocol parameter information into PACS//ICOLIMS and other systems for new and/or amended protocols. Prepare and QC clinical study specific materials.

Set the timelines for and monitor the progress of shipment requests for storage samples and verify data.

Attend and represent ICON at Sponsor Investigator Meetings, Kick-Off Meeting, Bid Defenses or Initiations.

Change management skills in order to adapt and lead in a frequently changing environment.

Strong organizational skills to effectively manage multiple tasks and initiatives during a given time frame.

Alternative bachelor’s degrees will be considered with 4 years’ work experience in a laboratory, healthcare, or quality role.

Analytical skills necessary to organize and direct the work of others.

Possess a moderate level of expertise with Computer/MS Office. Licensure/certifications:

Maintains current certifications according to guidelines established by appropriate certifying agency if required by department managing.

2+ years of clinical or research industry experience, including 1 year project management / project set up experience Preferred Or

Strong interpersonal and customer management skills
