Key Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

Under general supervision, performs experiments that support activities in Analytical Development and Operations.

Operates scientific equipment, selects appropriate methods and techniques to perform experiments, and prepares related reports.

Plans and organizes details of experiments with guidance.

Uses established data, reports, and previous results to identify inappropriate variances and concerns and discusses inconsistent results with supervisor.

Strong program and project management skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing demands.

Superior problem-solving, managerial, and interpersonal skills.

Experience with multivariate statistical methods, survey research and/or qualitative research and design and analysis

Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including presentation skills.

Applicants must have previous research experience in one or more of IWPR’s research areas.

Excellent knowledge of the Afghan context post August 2021

Experience undertaking research projects related to legal, political and gender issues in Afghanistan

Solid gender sensitive research and data analysis skills to identify key trends and emerging topics

At least 5 years of relevant work experience as an analyst or researcher.

Demonstrable experience working in Afghanistan.

Experience leading and undertaking research projects related to legal, political and gender issues in Afghanistan.

Collaborate with the audience team to develop newsletter features and sections.

Promote the newsletter, utilize analytics tools and insights to monitor and track reader engagement, and adjust content as necessary.

Identify content partnership opportunities with media brands, influencers, and other relevant entities.

Possess a track record of writing about gender, culture, entertainment, and power.

Understand the distinctions between writing stories for the inbox versus writing for the web.

Recognize that reader engagement and expanding Honey's audience are equally vital alongside producing high-quality content.

. Knowledge management and Advocacy

Initiate and manage knowledge production and publications processes related to the Programme;

Developing People, Fostering Innovation and Empowerment, Performance Management

Provide analytical knowledge and develop assessment reports on the subject of gender equality and human rights;

Prepare briefing notes and background materials to serve the information needs of senior managers, other UNFPA colleagues and relevant partners.

Synthesize and document experiences and lessons learned in working with the Programme, including through direct communication with regional and country offices;

Experience and knowledge of grantmaking, portfolio management and development of grantmaking strategy.

A track record of donor advocacy including leveraging resources, learning events and knowledge sharing and experience with events planning.

Manage, in consultation with others, the grantmaking budget available to respond to the growing anti-rights movement.

A minimum of 8 years’ experience leading social justice strategies

Knowledge of ethnic and racial justice social justice issues

Knowledge of intersectional and feminist theory and analysis in the US and around the world

Support the use of Salesforce via data management
