Hiv Health Educator Jobs in Illinois

Maintains current referrals/resources and up-to-date health education information, particularly related to sexual health education (including HIV/STI) and substance use/prevention.

Experience with HIV screening and/or phlebotomy preferred.

Experience with in-person youth recruitment/outreach

Strong organizational and communication skills

Develops relationships with community members and organizational partners through outreach activities.

Administer an assessment to determine barriers to care and determine appropriate referrals.

Three years of professional experience required in health education or investigation in public/private sector.

Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) credential preferred.

Experience supervising and managing an HIV prevention project conducting testing and risk reduction interventions preferred.

Knowledge of HIV testing, behavioral and biomedical HIV risk reduction interventions, human development, and communicable disease prevention theory preferred.

Excellent communication skills to communicate complex health information to professional and lay audiences.

Curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation experience preferred.

2-4 years of experience with individual behavior change management, motivational interviewing, and health coaching preferred.

Health Education- Knowledge of wellness topics like physical, emotional, and social wellness.

Experience in facilitation of health education required.

Knowledge of sexuality health education, substance use education, and/or LGBTQ+ and gender inclusion preferred.

Will coordinate with schools and key partners to schedule and deliver FLASH sexual health education curriculum.

Collaborates with Lurie communications team in creation and dissemination of relevant educational content.

This position requires a high school diploma or 3-years' experience in coordinating client-focused programming and managing scheduling.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Support evaluations and data management for health education programs.

Bachelor’s Degree or three or more years' experience with sexual education facilitation and sexual health promotion required.

Provide direct teaching of health education in a variety of settings.

Maintain records of educational events and project deliverables.

Work with education and evaluation team to continue to improve systems for education delivery of education and education evaluations.

Work with education and communications team on materials for social media and website related to sexuality education.

Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Public Administration, or Business Administration or similar
