Hfc Osp Engineer Jobs in Utah

May be required to perform other duties as assigned by manager CAD Designer/Draft & Design (Telecommunications)

Work directly with project engineers to develop construction drawings for utility projects

Plan and prepare preliminary layouts and detailed design drawings from engineering notes, sketches, and/or other drawings

Research and obtain standards/codes required by clients and Jurisdictions and ensure drawings comply

Research and obtain local land base & existing utility as-built shapefiles for import

Review drawings for completeness, accuracy and quality

Provide onsite support to remote engineers (reboot equipment, power cycle equipment, reseat cards, provide status information, fiber light path measurements, etc.)

Manage & coordinate the disposal or RMA of damaged or inoperable equipment.

Strong technical troubleshooting skills and basic understanding of networking & fiber signal flow.

Solid skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook required, with ability to become proficient in other software.

Strong knowledge of outside plant fiber networks.

Working knowledge of telecommunications/data center equipment.

Collaborate with customers and contractors to develop, evaluate, and propose project requirements.

Support Project Manager in managing the workload of team and maintaining project timelines.

Must have at least two (2) years’ experience in telecom engineering.

Must possess advanced knowledge of Ocalc Pro, PLS Pole, and PLS CADD.

Must have copper and fiber optic cable experience using aerial, underground and direct buried practices.

Must possess working knowledge of basic office software, such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel.

Must have at least two (2) years’ experience in telecom engineering

Must possess advanced knowledge of outside plant design for business-as-usual (BAU)
