Minimum of 2+ years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified (mechanic experience).

Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance.

Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services.

Performs inspections, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.

Ability to efficiently operate bulldozers, wheel loaders, motor grader, scraper. Able to operate preferred, but not required.

Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.

A minimum 3-5 years of experience as a mechanic repairing and maintaining heavy construction equipment

Knowledgeable in troubleshooting various heavy equipment product lines

Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record

Able to read schematics (both electrical and hydraulic)

Capable of accomplishing task independently without direct supervision

Perform thorough and accurate annual inspections

Ensures the safe and proper operation of trades tools and power equipment; adheres to prescribed safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Physical demand requirements are in excess of medium work.

Performs diagnostic tests on failed and/or broken-down vehicles and heavy equipment to determine appropriate repairs and/or maintenance.

Performs emergency road service to vehicles and equipment outside of the garage.

Overhauls and rebuilds engines, transmissions, alternators, starters, and other components.

Removes, repairs, and replaces component parts or assembles automotive systems; may perform simply oxy-acetylene and electrical welding.
