Required License / Registration / Certification

Hold a degree in music from the University of North Texas’ College of Music

Provide computer equipment including laptop, microphone, and headphones for lessons

Successfully pass Criminal History Check through Dallas ISD

8:00-5:00, Weekends when approved. 30 minute lessons.

Some knowledge of and experience teaching takadimi or a similar music literacy system and solfege.

Experience teaching elementary level general music class instruments, such as xylophones, recorders, etc.

Your prior teaching experience (in music and any other area).

Previous experience working with elementary-age students is preferred.

High level of experience and ability on guitar, ukulele and/or bass

Prior teaching experience, preferably at the high school level and with group classes

An understanding of and passion for musical forms and songwriting from a variety of popular genres and eras

Ability to differentiate the curriculum to reach and support all students

$15 - $20 Hourly ( B2R offers an hourly rate that is based on education, experience, expertise, and availability )

Experienced performer (either solo or group)

Experience working with youth and/or beginning musicians

Teach private and semi-private lessons using Bach to Rock curriculum and cover song arrangements

Create an encouraging, fun, and focused lesson atmosphere

Personalizes instruction based upon the needs of students and manages time to maximize student learning opportunities.

Assesses student growth as related to educational goals, objectives, and outcomes.

Demonstrated knowledge of subject content, curriculum, methodology of effective teaching

Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs

Skilled in the use of multi-media and computer technology to enhance learning

Demonstrated skill in oral and written communications; excellent human relations skills

Maintains Starfish Aquatics standards and/or HRCA Coached Aquatics standards and requirements in teaching private swim lessons in conjunction with HRCA guidelines.

Assesses proper skill level of student and teaches appropriate level of swimming strokes and techniques.

Works with students to improve their swimming ability and water skills in a constructive and enjoyable manner.

Assesses students abilities, accurately and fairly, when determining further progression.

Education: Prefer high school graduate.

Experience: Minimum one year swim instructor experience, competitive swimming background and/or current On-Site Instructor or Swim Coach.

Teaching experience with beginner, intermediate, and advanced students.

Bachelors degree in classical guitar required.

Part-time hours, however SATURDAY and/or SUNDAY availability is highly desirable (and will get you lots more students)

You get to coach student ensembles, including glee clubs and bands, and prepare them for competitions and performance at public venues

Work extra hours during music week camps, especially during our busy summer camp season (Optional, but worth it!)

Maintains order within the classroom setting in accordance with division guidelines regarding student behavior management.

Plans and delivers appropriate curriculum content to students.

Assesses student learning on an ongoing basis and alters instruction to meet group/individual needs.

Uses the curriculum of the district to plan daily instructional activities and assessments.

Supervises students in non-classroom time (before school, after school, student activities, fire drills).

Collaborates with other faculty in planning and delivering instruction to students.
