Prepare meals and snacks for all classrooms

Serve meals to each classroom on time and at the appropriate temperature

Prepare morning snacks, lunch, and supper according to CACFP guidelines and the posted menu

1+ year of experience working in a kitchen, experience in catering is preferred.

CORE VALUE AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

Setting up and sanitizing workstations.

Following prep lists created by lead culinary.

Measuring ingredients and seasonings, and preparing cooking ingredients such as soup stock to be used in the cooking process.

Preparing simple dishes as directed by the Executive Chef.

Experience serving groups of 55 people or more

Minimum 2 years relevant vessel experience

Planning, preparing, and serving three meals and three snacks a day

Ordering food and coordinating with the purchasing department and ship stores

Ensures that all safe food handling practices are strictly followed

Managing the assistant cook and housekeeper

Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware

Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)

Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment

Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)

Cook food in various utensils or grillers

Check food while cooking to stir or turn

Must be at least 18 years of age

Must be able to work in a team environment

Able to provide excellent guest service

Must be willing to undergo a background check if you're 18 or older

Will need to have reliable transportation to the stadium

Will need to be TABC (Alcohol Seller-Server) certified, which we will help facilitate

Employees must pass ServSafe Food Manager Certification within six months of hire.

Participate in nutrition education activities for children, parents and staff

Minimum of up to twelve months of relevant experience and a high school diploma or equivalent required

Must have excellent written and verbal communication as well as interpersonal skills.

ServSafe certification paid for by ABCD

Responsible for the preparation, service and storage of nutritious meals and snacks for Head Start/Early Head Start Center

Must be able to live in dormitory style settings and meet cleanliness requirements of the remote camp.

May also be combined with other position duties to include but not limited to housekeeper and janitorial responsibilities.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Must have or obtain an Alaska Food Workers Card and/or ServSafe Certification upon hire.
