Government Affairs Policy Analyst Jobs

At least 15+ years of work experience in the California electricity sector.

Proven experience working with or for the CPUC or other state regulatory commissions

Experience with California agencies, utilities, and entities (e.g., California Energy Commission, California ISO, muni utilities, CCAs, investor owned utilities)

Excellent verbal, written and personal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complicated and technical policy points effectively

Ability to work quickly and efficiently, to manage time and multiple deadlines

Develop and maintain an understanding of the policy and regulatory landscape.

Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and project management skills

Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including pivots, vlookups, sumif, and concatenate functions.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

8 years of experience working on technical or related policy, including AI policy.

Experience in a technology company, government, NGO or similar organization managing technology policy issues including AI.

Experience in Government relations to integrate public policy with business strategy.

Experience working closely with Product or Engineering teams.

Ability to learn and think about the latest research in AI and societal/ethical implications.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related major coupled with 2-4 years of related experience

Assist in designing and implementing automation solutions to streamline and improve reporting capabilities

Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including pivots, vlookups, sumif, and concatenate functions

Working knowledge of GAAP, FAR, DFARS and CAS

Working knowledge of Government Contracting

Well-developed analytical and research abilities

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification.

Government program management certifications and/or training.

Knowledge of earned value management (EVM), particularly in IT/Agile environments.

Perform research related to program/project management, federal acquisition management, program/acquisition oversight, etc.

Contribute to the establishment of a program management center of excellence including best practices, templates, reference materials, training.

Strong organizational and project management skills to effectively balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Manage relationships with state partners and other stakeholders within your assigned territory.

7-10+ years of experience building and managing relationships with senior government officials, specifically at the state level.

Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and presentation)

Identify government and third-party opportunities to promote ESH programmatic solutions and represent ESH in such forums, including media opportunities.

Assist with the development and execution of state and federal policy advocacy.

Provided policy updates at Department of Human Services-contracted management meetings

Serve as the content contributor for communications and policy education resource development including, but not limited to the assigned policy areas

A graduate degree (preferred) in social work, human services, public administration, public policy, or law and 2 years of relevant experience

Preferred candidates will possess experience and expertise in independently analyzing public policy and operations in child and youth-serving system

Familiarity and knowledge of the challenging dynamics facing public-private sector relations is preferred.

Strong written and oral communication skills
