Gis Research Analyst Jobs in Iowa

Analyze incoming data from different sources for the production of maps, tables, graphs and reports.

Produce custom hard copy maps, websites, tables, graphs and reports for customer and inter-departmental use.

Provide training and recommendations on the use of GIS in order to improve efficiency and functionality throughout the organization.

Maintain and update GIS databases.

Perform data analysis and create information/map products from the GIS related software and sub systems.

Digitizes maps and plats for tax maps. Creates plats in a digital world.

Other tasks as necessary and feasible, if the analyst is available

Strong background in GIS systems, either ArcGIS or QGIS

Masters’ degree or higher (or currently working towards a Masters’ degree) in relevant discipline

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis; early submissions are encouraged.

Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience; minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience with Master’s degree.

Experience developing ArcGIS Server services.

Experience developing python scripts for geoprocessing.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Experience supporting government contracts or federal work experience

Experience supporting USDA and/or rural development

Customer driven with good oral and written communications skills and general analytical, problem solving and project management skills.

Monitor and coordinate activities to support operational performance management (e.g., safety, reliability, service level, productivity, etc.).

Minimum of 2 year experience in Gas or Electric Utility GIS systems.

Can multi-task and manage inflow from data updates in GIS.

Provide statistical information to ensure the most effective utilization of personnel, equipment and/or materials for business operations.

Track, maintain, analyze and provide current information on the operation's business scorecard or key performance indicators (KPIs).
