Overview Float Patient Care Technicians are healthcare professionals who provide patient care services in a variety of settings. They are responsible for providing direct patient care, monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with patient transfers. They may also be responsible for providing patient education and support. Float Patient Care Technicians must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to adapt to changing patient needs. Detailed Job Description Float Patient Care Technicians are responsible for providing direct patient care in a variety of settings. They must be able to assess patient needs and provide appropriate care. They must be able to monitor vital signs, administer medications, and assist with patient transfers. They must also be able to provide patient education and support. Float Patient Care Technicians must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to adapt to changing patient needs. Job Skills Required• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care procedures
• Ability to assess patient needs and provide appropriate care
• Ability to monitor vital signs and administer medications
• Ability to assist with patient transfers
• Ability to provide patient education and support

Job Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a certified nursing assistant program
• Current certification as a nursing assistant
• Current CPR certification
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting
Job Knowledge
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care procedures
• Knowledge of infection control procedures
• Knowledge of safety protocols
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
Job Experience
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting
• Previous experience providing patient care
• Previous experience monitoring vital signs
• Previous experience administering medications
