Overview: Family Workers are professionals who provide support, guidance, and resources to families in need. How To Become an Family Worker: To become a Family Worker, you will need to have a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field. You may also need to have a license or certification in your state. Additionally, you will need to have strong communication and problem-solving skills. Family Worker Skills: Communication, problem-solving, empathy, active listening, conflict resolution, organizational, and time management skills. Family Worker Knowledge: Knowledge of family dynamics, social services, mental health, substance abuse, and domestic violence. Family Worker Responsibilities: Assessing family needs, providing counseling and advocacy, developing and implementing plans to address family issues, referring families to appropriate services, and providing follow-up services. Family Worker Experience: Experience working with families in need, preferably in a social services setting.
