Director Of Manufacturing Continuous Improvement Jobs in Michigan

Experience of leading complex operational excellence and CI transformation programmes within CPG

Previous experience of leading change and transformation using Opex/Continuous techniques

Multi-site experience – ideally across North America

Demonstrable experience of implementing Lean and Six Sigma process improvement methodologies

To be considered for this high profile role you must have the following experience:

QLM Search is partnering a fast growth manufacturing group that is recruiting a Director of Continuous Improvement.

Prior relevant work experience in manufacturing, preferably in front-line operations management role and in both union and non-union work environments.

Conceive, lead, coach, and manage Continuous Improvement projects to meet established targets for cost reductions or efficiency improvements.

Bring insights to senior leadership about areas of operations that may benefit from process improvement.

Build and manage processes to identify, track and share best practices and lessons learned.

Prior experience leading CI projects with demonstrated and validated results and improvement.

Experience with Toyota Production System (TPS) highly desired.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Supply Chain Management or other related field of study

Demonstrated experience in manufacturing improvement techniques, including flow principles, Kanban, and plan for every part (PFEP)

Experience evaluating TAKT time vs. cycle time, determining work area constraints (i.e. cycle time constraint, periodic work constraints, downtime constraints).

Experience on shop floor, working with employees, and enhancing manufacturing processes

Strong interpersonal skills requiring the ability to resolve conflicting interests and obtain cooperation.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: able to develop and use structured approaches to identify root causes and recommend resolutions

Bachelor’s degree in Math, Science, Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Supply Chain Management or other related field of study

Strong interpersonal skills requiring the ability to resolve conflicting interests and obtain cooperation.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: able to develop and use structured approaches to identify root causes and recommend resolutions

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet objectives and key deadlines

Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as exhibit initiative and a high level of energy

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
