Director Knicks Basketball Jobs

Support talent and management during games, events, auditions, orientation, seminars and meetings.

Act as a runner distributing messages or items within talent, management, office and arena

Comfortable engaging with supervisors, management and talent

Previous experience as a Production Assistant or being part of a live production preferred

Demonstrated organization skills and the ability to multitask, prioritize and work quickly and under pressure

A team player with great communication skills

Liaise with Marketing Partnerships on content ideation and execution; track content requirements and fulfillment

2-4 years’ experience working in the sports industry in a similar role

Strong writing and interviewing skills

Experience with social media measurement tools such as Sprout and CrowdTangle

Professional experience on major social media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok)

Experience in Adobe Photoshop and Premiere

Experience in recruiting and retaining outstanding student-athletes preferred.

General knowledge of sport, including sport specialty or athletic function.

Knowledgeable in overall non-profit fundraising and development operations best practices.

Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.

Oversee, manage, and provide effective, clear, creative direction for the home and road technical crews.

Minimum of 5-10 years basketball directing experience.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsible for directing all New York Knicks games on MSGN—pre-season, regular season, and post-season.

Responsible for ensuring that the telecasts align with the creative vision of and meet the quality standards expected from MSG Networks.

Plans, coordinates, facilitates and works basketball event operations and game management duties under the direction of the head coach.

Assist head coach in management of work calendar

Education, Certificates, Licenses, and Experience:

Graduate Assistants, Managers, Interns assigned to basketball operations

Minimum Work Experience: Bachelor’s Degree, 2 years of working experience in Athletics

1-2 years NCAA Division I college coaching and/or playing experience

Knowledge of NCAA Rules, Microsoft Office

Plan all team travel including flights, busses, etc.

Manages fundraising activities, NCAA-required paperwork, the coordination of charity events and other various administrative team duties.

At least one year of administrative or coaching experience is required.

Excellent technology skills are required. Must be proficient in Word and Excel.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsible for directing the work of students who help with the team.

All other duties as assigned.
