This position requires possession of a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Class 1 Certified Inspection Mechanic certification.

Performs mechanical repairs, service, and preventive maintenance assigned by the Branch Management.

Informs Branch Management of any parts that are damaged, in need of replacement, or are unsafe.

Perform other duties as assigned by Branch Management.

Pay Range: $35 - $45 per hour depending on experience and training.

Completes work-orders accurately and records the work performed.

Insures that all parts, sublet labor, oil, and any other miscellaneous costs are included on the work-order.

Perform preventative and routine maintenance on diesel trucks, pickup trucks, log trailers, and semi-trailers

Machine parts for automotive equipment and machinery according to specifications.

Prepare necessary records pertaining to work performed.

Assist in maintaining inventory of equipment, supplies, and materials.

Follow a predetermined preventative maintenance program on buses, sanitation equipment, trucks, cars and other power-driven equipment.

Provide technical guidance and direction to lower-level personnel.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Less than high school education plus six months experience in general work; or combination of relevant education and experience.

Fred Meyer lift truck certification/license

Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures, and organizational structure

Read work order and follow verbal instructions

Make simple adjustments or repairs to trucks, trailers and dollies

Maintain and perform minor repairs primarily on trucks equipped with diesel engines & automatic transmissions

Tracking and scheduling of all fleet maintenance including permits and registrations

Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.

Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.

Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures.

Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.

Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.

Demonstrate the ability to ensure correct parts selection and installation, or repair on vehicles / equipment

Proficiently use the required equipment for servicing and installing parts as required by the customer

Recognize acceptable and defective parts and complete the process as appropriate

Conduct maintenance for assigned equipment as identified by the schedule

Complete computer work and close vision work, as required

Abide by the Company Policies such as attendance, safety, processes, teamwork, training, etc

Escalates “Hot Issues” to team lead, supervisor, or managers when unable to resolve satisfactorily

Minimum of three years of experience within Automotive Service Industry required

Must have strong computer skills and the ability to troubleshoot and service policy issues

Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Superior verbal/written skills and communications skills

Experience in customer service, insurance claims, or call/claims center environment

Handles claims related calls per work schedule performing within defined metrics
