Diesel Truck Mechanic Jobs

The Diesel Truck Mechanic is responsible for performing repairs and maintenance to our fleet of service trucks. This person thinks logically and enjoys solving problems with creativity, diligence and achievement. Qualified candidates will possess a general knowledge of PTO driven Vacuum Pumps as well as necessary skills to perform Repair and Maintenance of our fleet of service trucks. Must be drug free, have a clean driving record and be customer service oriented with a good attitude.

Responsibilities:

• Maintains garage equipment and shop work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner
• Organizes and maintain fleet records and requirements per company and regulatory guidelines
• Maintain and perform minor repairs primarily on trucks equipped with diesel engines & automatic transmissions
• Utilize safe work procedures to foster a safe work environment
• Complete inspections and preventive maintenance requirements
  • Correcting vehicle deficiencies
  • Completing repairs in a fast paced environment while providing the lowest possible maintenance cost for the company
• Tracking and scheduling of all fleet maintenance including permits and registrations
• Assist in identifying, completing warranty repairs and recouping warranty reimbursement as applicable
• Perform any additional duties (on or off site) as assigned
• Receiving phone calls and responding to regular and after hour road calls
• Observe all health and safety rules and regulations
• Completing repairs in a fast paced environment while providing the lowest possible maintenance cost for the company
• Correcting vehicle deficiencies
• Performs parts ordering and garage inventory

Qualifications and Skills

• Ability to work independently and work extended hours as needed
• Reside near company location and willingness to travel within client territory
• Must be insurable to drive company vehicles and able to pass a background investigation and drug screen
