Documentation for department records (i.e.:

Behaves professionally and ethically in all interactions with patients, co-workers, supervisors, management, patients' families, physicians volunteers, and others.

Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography or registry eligible.

One year practical experience in ultrasound department under the direction of a qualified radiologist, preferred.

Properly positions patients and is knowledgeable of why and how positions are utilized for good ultrasound imaging.

Is willing to learn new procedures and develop new skills for the purpose of improving quality of care and services.

Varied 8 hour day shifts, as needed, M-F.

Must maintain knowledge, skills, and ability to independently and competently perform the full breadth of exams offered within the ultrasound modality.

New graduates must be registry eligible and acquire certification through ARDMS within 1 year of hire.

Performs Ultrasound examinations on all patients consistent with the programmatic needs of the department.

Must hold and maintain a current ARDMS registry in Ultrasound

Must hold and maintain a current BLS/CPR.

Must have graduated from an accredited program in Ultrasound Sciences

Provides opportunities to teach about massage therapy techniques and its therapeutic benefits and symptom management through hands-on work and didactic education.

Maintains current knowledge of field through continued education and self-study

Valid NYS Massage Therapy License, NY State Board of EducationProof of Liability Insurance

Valid NYS Massage Therapy License, NY State Board of Education

Participates in orientation and step-protocol training during probationary period.

Provides support and comfort to oncology and non-oncology patients, family members and caregivers through therapeutic massage, relaxation and self-care techniques

Minimum 2 years of experience in ultrasonography

Broad-based knowledge of all aspects of ultrasonography

Experience in acute care hospital setting

Experience with GE and Philips ultrasound equipment

Graduate of an approved school of Ultrasonography; maintains current knowledge of new developments and equipment in the field of Ultrasonography.
