Essential Functions (Major Duties or Responsibilities):

Food Preparation and Serving 60%

Prepares nourishments, snacks, and coffee and juice carts for residents to meet nutritional needs by following established procedures and schedules.

Working in a food service environment including handling, preparing, and cooking/baking of food as well as following standardized recipes

Prefers at least three (3) years of experience performing access control, space assignment, equipment handling, or inventory management.

Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of high school.

Prefers at least two (2) years of experience communicating effectively using both verbal and written skills in relaying specific job instructions.

Requires two (2) years of experience in food preparation in large-scale food operation.

Prefers at least two (2) years of professional experience ordering supplies, processing invoices, and distributing materials to work locations.

Prefers at least two (2) years of experience in a professional setting performing detailed work involving written or numerical data.

1. Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of high school.

2. Requires two (2) years of experience in food preparation in large-scale food operation.

7. Prefers at least one (1) year of professional experience with the SAP platform.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

Full-time employment, 40-hour work week.

Coaches other staff and offenders to develop their personal skills and capabilities in food service operations.

Attends and participates in all required in-service and pre-service training related to applying new knowledge to their job requirements.

Substitution of Education for Experience:

Directs subordinate staff relative to their job performance requirements.

Checks staff’s work schedules and hours relative to work requirements to meet production needs and to assist in controlling overtime costs.

Coordinates the work of staff on assigned shifts in order to accomplish food preparation requirements.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year of experience as a Corrections Food Service Supervisor; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of supervisory experience in food preparation, production, or service.
