Compensation Analyst – Contractor Jobs in California

Minimum 2 years of Compensation, HR, Finance, or general business experience preferred.

Bachelor’s degree – preferably in Human Resources, Business, Finance, Economics, or equivalent work experience

Highly Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access

Workday, SAP, and Cognos knowledge a plus

Exceptional quantitative skills with a commitment to accuracy and details

Solid written communication and consulting skills

Good written, verbal communication and organizational and time management skills; ability to create and conduct manager and employee webinars.

Advise management on applicable state and federal employment regulations and compensation policies, human resource procedures, and collective agreements.

Advanced Excel knowledge and skills.

Review and evaluate job descriptions and salary offers.

Strong knowledge of compensation concepts and practices, including benchmarking and job pricing.

Extensive knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods and data analysis, financial modeling, and presentation design.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Certifications/Licenses, and Experience:

Supports the effective design and administration of compensation, benefits, performance management, and employee engagement programs aligned with company strategy.

Excellent collaboration, project management, and organizational skills.

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Evaluates jobs, documenting responsibilities and requirements in job descriptions, including FLSA reviews.

Participates in administration of annual performance management, incentive, or merit increase programs.

Serves as a Compensation Analyst assisting management in the administration and implementation of staff compensation program(s), initiatives and activities.

He/She is responsible for participation in salary surveys, job code development and compensation reviews.

Assists in ensuring wage and salary compliance with federal, state and local regulations and University staff compensation policies and procedures.

Assists with special projects and studies and creates statistical compensation reports.

Approves reclassifications and internal promotions requests.

Support change management and communication efforts associated with our compensation program

Support recruiting team with offer guidance

Partner with FP&A to develop annual salary budgets and manage equity pool usage

5+ years of progressive experience in global compensation administration

In-depth knowledge of compensation terminology and fundamentals, including job matching, market pricing, and equity program design and execution

Strong analytical and quantitative skills with track record of developing and delivering clear compensation insights and recommendations to stakeholders

Demonstrated oral and written communication skills with experience presenting recommendations to various levels of management.

Develops communication and training materials geared toward HR and line manager development.

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.

5 or more years' compensation experience (or comparable HRBP experience) including market data analysis, job evaluation, salary administration and stakeholder consultation.

Strong knowledge of federal and state wage and hour and equal pay regulations.

Strong analytical skills, balancing “big picture” perspective with attention to detail.
