As a Closing Specialist, you will work to manage various documents and files throughout the settlement process.

Escalate to management all unresolved issues, where appropriate.

1-3 years residential mortgage lending experience with good knowledge of lending post-closing and quality assurance practices.

Thorough knowledge and understanding of methods, practices, procedures and terminology used in SBA lending

Strong computer skills, including software associated with loan originations

Auditing: Performs pre-closing audits of all submitted documents and conditions to ensure SBA eligibility.

Quality Control: Completes quality checks of loan packages, document deficiencies, and resolves exceptions with customers and bankers.

Broad understanding of SBA loans

Qualifications, Skills And Expertise Required

Coordinating among multiple parties, including sellers, buyers, real estate agents and attorneys on Purchase/Sale, Refinance and REO Transactions.

Entering and balancing CD/HUD data for Purchase/Sale, Refinance and REO transactions.

Reviewing payoff demand data for accuracy and completing data entry.

Paralegal certification preferred, but not required

Experience with purchase/sale closing customs

Handle reporting and updates to reporting for upper management when VP not available.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers

Check for unusual disbursement requirements, review, and work with accounting on any discrepancies.

Ensure all files comply with ATR/QM/HPML/HOEPA rules and requirements.

Communicates and interacts with performance teams, Quality Review teams, and other managers to ensure staffing needs match the capacity plan.

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Strong time management and organizational skills evidenced in Previous assignments.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required

Receives Reviews and analyzes draft and final credit approval/credit memo from underwriter or portfolio manager and determines due diligence requirements.

Strong knowledge of loan documents and requirements.

Thorough knowledge of loan documentation, collateral evaluation, Lien Perfection, local, state and Federal Regulatory requirements.

Strong personal computer skills with Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and email.

This role is NOT REMOTE, and you must live in the Charlotte area to work in the Ballantyne office.

Associate degree or 1-3 years of experience in mortgage related industry

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Has experience with Encompass and/or other mortgage loan origination systems (preferred)

Manage progress of the title work and facilitate corrections or issues to help maintain a timely closing

1 – 2 years of title or customer service experience

Knowledge of real estate or mortgage business is helpful

Responsibilities and essential job functions:

Process, review for completeness, and organize the closing file

Order information for the upcoming closing

Be responsible for the performance, management, contract management, design, consulting, coordinating, training, and support functions of the Closing processes.

Experience with real estate finance, including mortgage documents; AND

Experience with planning, directing, implementing, and overseeing a process with multiple parties and tight time frames for actions.

Six months to one year of related experience and/or training

Balance escrow check to Closing Disclosure and Initial Escrow

Assist in completing physical file for bond loans as needed

Deliver bond loans to Secondary Marketing

Prepare and ship banking file to warehouse bank

Manages MS Outlook folders for customer inquiries and required tasks.

Technical data entry of specific order details/information into the database, including preparation of closing statements.

Monitor closing schedules and volume to manage workload.

Preforms quality review of closing documents by reviewing prepared documents, real estate contracts and title requirements.

Runs daily reports for files ready for closing and for refinance disbursements.

This position will report to the Closing Manager for Burnet Title WI.
