1+ Years of Nursing Assistant experience in an acute care hospital setting required

1-2 years of experience working in Endoscopy

Education: High School Diploma or GED required

Certification: Certification in Endoscopic procedures required (must be completed within 2 years of employment); NYS Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.

Assist the physician and nursing staff in performance of endoscopic procedures

Must be able to maintain Continuing Education Credits.

Prepares and assists patients for radiographic procedures as requested by Providers and Clinicians.

Ensures that images, examination requisitions and other related records are properly completed for proper patient identification, statistical, and billing purposes.

Provides protection to unaffected areas of the body from radiation exposure utilizing lead shields in accordance with prescribed ALARA safety standards

Screens female patients 55 years old or younger for pregnancy. Checks for lab pregnancy results, if needed.

Assists Providers in the performance of specialized examinations per established procedures.

Ability to teach online, hybrid, or remote if necessary; (Online, Hybrid, Remote, or blended teaching experience is highly desirable.)

Maintain attendance and clinical experience progress records for assigned students;

Experience in working in a concept-based curriculum preferred.

Laboratory and/or clinical simulation teaching experience preferred;

Demonstrates understanding and commitment of Nursing Education and working with a diverse population.

Knowledge of Concept Based Curriculum is preferred.

Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.

Bachelor of Science Biology, Biochemistry or Chemistry, Medical Laboratory Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science, or Microbiology - Required

16 semester or equivalent quarter units of chemistry, which must include clinical chemistry or analytical and biochemistry.

18 semester or equivalent quarter units of biology, which must include hematology, immunology, and medical microbiology.

3 semester or equivalent quarter units of physics (light and electricity).

CLS Clinical Lab Scientist (MTA) - California Department of Public Health - Laboratory Field Service or

Maintains regulatory knowledge and awareness as it pertains to specific job duties.

Completes mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department-specific competencies and requirements.

Communicates the test results, reference ranges, specimen requirements, and other pertinent information to authorized sources effectively.

Is motivated to learn, has critical thinking skills, and has decisive judgement.

Assumes responsibility for and takes action regarding any quality control or quality assurance issues as it pertains to specific job duties.

Assumes responsibility for participation in continuing education, professional development and required annual competency assessment.

Responsible for following protocol guidelines for the preparation, collection, transfer and storage of all specimens according to protocol requirements.
