Centerless Grinder Operator Jobs

Problem Solving skills to understand why machines are not at peak performance, how to increase output and how to fix errors

3-5 years of experience as a grinder, or similar job

Experience in CNC Grinding, preferred

Experience with Bridgeport/manual lathe, preferred

Inspect machinery and workpieces to ensure that they remain compliant with specifications to reduce any malfunctions and associated loss of production

Ensure grinding wheels are dressed according to specifications so that machines remain at peak working capability

Skills To Perform The Job

Hours, 3rd shift - 11 pm-7 am (may train on 2nd shift)

Rate - $16 hourly; when hired, will receive a $2 increase.

High School Diploma or equivalent

Basic mathematical ability (add, subtraction, multiplication, and division)

Able to repeatedly lift 5 to 40 pounds

Knowledgeable of required specifications on castings

Experience in similar or related job

Positions castings on work bench using hoist

Visually inspects castings and notes what work needs done

Positions and manually guides grinder or chipping hammer along specified guidelines on edge or surface of casting

Uses production gauges to verify specifications of castings are to standard

Ensure full awareness of, and compliance with, the requirements of all relevant company/customer QHSE handbooks, QHSE procedures and emergency procedures.

Minimum of two to five years’ experience in a related field preferred.

High school diploma or equivalent general education degree (GED) preferred.

Equivalent combination of experience and/or training.

Works to close limits according to blueprints or other specifications.

Responsible for pre-coating and/or final finish.

Locate, drill, countersink, tap, spot face, counterbore, and ream holes per blueprints.

Locate and weld studs per prints.

Grinds or sands sharp edges and burrs from parts.

. Starting pay $15-$20 per hour depending on experience.

Must be able to understand and read blue prints.

Must be able to understand written and verbal directions.

Fundamental knowledge of adhesive and fasteners.

Operate power tools, hand tools, machinery and computers.

Operate within standard operating procedures.

Perform equipment and tooling Preventative Maintenance as required.

Clean and maintain work area.

Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.

Typically requires 3-5 years of related experience in a tight tolerance medical mold making industry.

Demonstrates advanced technical skills, which may be used to conduct on-the-job training and/or lead/guide other employees.

Demonstrates broad knowledge of functional techniques and has input to process improvement.
