A minimum of 20 years of increasing responsibility as a senior commercial lines’ leader

Undergraduate degree required and MBA degree preferred

CPCU or CIC designations are valued

A strategic business “thinker”, well versed in business financial analytics (metric/measures)

Solid knowledge of market risk issues, insurance brokerage, account management, servicing and sales skills

Consults management on complex client issues or trends through clear and concise communication and participates in development of solutions.

Build and maintain relationships with underwriters to manage the placement of insurance programs

10+ years industry experience and success working collaboratively in a matrix team environment

Casualty experience lines needed along with HealthCare experience

Strong problem solving including critical thinking and communication skills

For Management Liability positions, a working knowledge of financial statements and analysis.

In conjunction with more experienced underwriters or manager, may participate in sales calls or underwriting meetings.

1+ years of relevant professional experience; Insurance experience preferred.

Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills.

Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

· 3+ years analyst, insurance, underwriting or relevant experience required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Provide training on underwriting concepts, market trends, and relationship management.

Provide advice to underwriting and product management on areas and opportunity for improved growth, profit, and diversification.

Perform other specific duties and projects as assigned by management.

The primary responsibilities of the referral underwriter will be to:

Show expertise and knowledge of current market trends, conditions, and competition in the marketplace.
