On Call Photo Studio Assistant Jobs

Constructing room scenes based on creative direction from Photo Directors and Managers.

Maintain an understanding of direction by working with art directors, stylists, and the photo studio manager.

Manage efficient workflow by prioritizing set assembly and utilizing available resources across teams.

Manage organization and maintenance of photo studio tools and equipment.

2 years previous woodworking/shop experience

Construction, carpentry, or theatre scenic work experience a plus

Strong time-management & project-management skills

A strong understanding of print and web production techniques including separation, layering, and color management.

Maintains current knowledge of design and technology trends.

Contributes to team effort by fulfilling responsibilities with a positive attitude.

Proficient Mac and PC skills

Proficient Microsoft Office skills-Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint

Experience with photography, Profoto lighting, Canon camera systems, and Capture One Pro a plus.

Carpentry skills and proficiency with power tools is a plus.

Excellent organization and communication skills required, must have a great attitude and a passion for the creative environment.

Location and professional assisting experience preferred.

Assist Photographers and Stylists on set with all aspects of creating impactful imagery.

Assist with overall setup and breakdown of daily sets.

Must have 1-2 years of administrative/clerical experience; or equivalent education and experience.

Ability to gauge workload and report on production abilities

Excellent organizational skills: accurate and thorough

Excellent communication skills: listening, writing, and verbal

Consistently monitors the flow of items between the collectible departments and the photo studio

Ensure items being photographed are acquired from and returned to various departments promptly

Experience on-set and in photo studios – understanding of production/pre-production, prop sourcing & procurement, photography, and post-production preferred

2-3 years of experience in photo studio or editorial production role.

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite & Keynote, Airtable knowledge a plus

Experience working in a photography studio, film set, or theatrical environment, and understand the needs and demands of the Stylists/Art Department/Photographers.

Set construction: You have a background in set building, painting, light construction, or related Experience and are comfortable with power tools.

Wallpaper, tile work, fabrication, or carpentry skills are a significant bonus.

Knowledge of Microsoft and Adobe

At least 3+ years of experience with production experience, preferably at an agency

A clear understanding of offering solutions for budget constraints and realistic expectations without sacrificing the quality of the creative deliverable

During down time between shoots, understand that other responsibilities may be asked of you to support the larger company

Organizing shoot schedules and travel logistics

Sourcing and hiring crew, contractors, and talent for shoots

What You’ll Bring | Skills & Experience

Proven experience as production assistant with a minimum of 1-year experience in either film/video or photo production

Knowledge of terminology will be appreciated

A team player with great communication skills
