Behavioral Health Advocate Jobs

Utilizes critical thinking skills and asks probing questions to identify customer needs and support their healthcare and benefit journey.

Has working knowledge and experience in own discipline.

Develops and maintains a deep understanding of the organization and services offered to resolve more complex inquiries.

2 – 4 years of experience related to customer advocacy.

Documents member activities and progress notes in appropriate systems and provides reports to management

Assists clients with obtaining and completing appropriate application forms for various benefits and services

Experience with at-risk or gang-impacted youth and/or adults in a clinical setting

Working knowledge of the criminal justice system

Practical knowledge of legal and health resources available in community

Practical knowledge of community violence and its impact on human development

Demonstrated experience / additional training or certifications in Motivational Interviewing, Stages of Change, Trauma-Informed Care, Person-Centered Care

Serve as primary care manager for high medical risks / needs members with comorbid behavioral health needs

1+ years of experience with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Experience working in team-based care

Experience in serving individuals with co-occurring disorders (both mental health and substance use disorders)

Partner and collaborate with internal care team, providers, and community resources/partners to implement care plan

Work from an Integrated Care Management Model to ensure high risk members have evidenced based care and medically necessary services

Experience working in an environment that required coordination of benefits and utilization of multiple groups and resources for patients

Experience in a managed care environment (i.e., managed care organization (MCO) or health insurance company)

Knowledge of insurance benefits, including Medicaid and Medicare

Registered Nurse (RN) with 2+ years of recent experience in a dedicated Behavioral Health setting

2+ years of experience in a related mental health environment

Full-time (scheduled 72 hrs or more per pay period)

8 AM to 5 PM

Professional experience coordinating programs focused on youth ages 10-21

Experience collaborating with professionals from multiple disciplines with the goal of improving outcomes for children and youth

Experience with coordinating cross-systems and with multiple disciplines

Professional work experience working within a school environment or youth serving agency

Experience providing presentations and training to youth and/or adult audiences
