Autocad Electrical Designer Jobs in Iowa

Prepare 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings of advanced complexity

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Five plus (5+) years drafting/design experience, preferably in AutoCAD and Revit, in a consulting and/or construction capacity.

Experience working in Autodesk Revit for electrical design and coordinating with other disciplines in Revit.

Working knowledge of Codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA, IBC, IFC, Energy Code, Life Safety Code, etc.).

Knowledge of SKM Power Tools for Windows, ETAP or Easy Power modeling software preferred.

Effective communication skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to read and interpret information.

Computer skills required: Microsoft Windows environment, Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel; Google: Mail, Calendar, Drive, Apps

Code and Mathematical knowledge required:

Prepares engineering analysis of projects, to include: preliminary design, budget analysis, calculations, life cycle costs, and equipment selection.

Reviews the development of designs for compliance with applicable codes, adopted engineering standards, and good engineering practices.

Performs field inspections as part of the construction quality assurance process.

Demonstrated skills in wiring diagrams/schematics, control cabinet layout, and component selection.

Generate and detail schematics and enclosure layouts with minimal guidance.

Compile and maintain complete documentation packages for manufacturing.

Select detail components and formulate interconnection strategies.

Ensure specific compliance with applicable specifications.

Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure designs meet project requirements and industry standards

2+ years of experience as an electrical engineering designer/drafter

Create detailed electrical design drawings using Revit software

Work closely with electrical engineers to ensure the accuracy of drawings

Ensure that drawings comply with industry standards and codes

Collaborate with other members of the engineering team to ensure that designs are effective and efficient

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned or deemed necessary by management.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

A combination of equivalent education and or experience will be considered with solid evidence of success.

Advanced understanding of complex electrical principles and advanced electrical troubleshooting skills.

Provide guidance and training to others with less experience through mentoring and project leadership.

Understand and follow all safety, conduct, and policy requirements established by ESCO and clients.
