Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Basic Computer skills to utilize timekeeping system. Ability to learn parts department computer inventory and ordering system.

Paid Skilled Trainings and Certifications I-CAR and ASE

2C; years of prior experience as a collision repair technician required; I-CAR & ASE certifications preferred

Three to five years of experience in auto body repair preferred.

Works with Collision Center Estimators to identify required repair, and ensure completion to customer’s standards and satisfaction.

Performs all aspects of body and frame repair work per estimate and according to manufacturer’s standards.

Prepare vehicles for body repair work.

Check parts against estimate and ensure proper parts are ordered and received.

Maintain tools and equipment in a proper state of repair.

Prepare students to sit for and successfully pass the Automotive Service Excellence/National Automotive Technology Educational Foundation (ASE/NATEF) certification exam.

Three to five years of industry-related work experience for state of Maryland.

Complete dis-assembly of vehicle in order to assist Service Advisors in assessing damage to prepare a 100% Repair Plan

Operate a variety of hand and power tools (e.g. welder, soldering equipment, cutting torch, blocks, hammers, wrenches, sander, spray guns, etc.)

File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces with 120-grit paper before turning vehicle over to the Paint Dept.
