Conducts technical chemical and biological analyses requiring considerable knowledge of associated properties, characteristics, and specimens.

Perform independent tests per SOPs, validated/certified methods and quality control procedures.

Accurately perform tests and document calculations and results on forms and in LIMS

Work efficiently to multi-task and complete various tests on a large number of samples with short deadlines.

Work with fellow lab personnel to ensure completion of tests and a safe and clean work environment.

Perform a variety of technical laboratory functions in the operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment.

Calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment

• Manage recipe/formulation design characteristics in the areas of critical to controls and critical to quality.

• Support and improve ISO9001:2015 certification.

• Five (5) years’ experience in any rubber manufacturing or custom compounding environment, preferred.

Assist management in developing long-range materials research and development plans and goals

Lead, manage, and facilitate multiple, long-term, complex research and development projects and new product development from concept to production

Conduct in-depth and extensive research and keep abreast of pertinent patents, technical articles, competitor information, and industry trends and knowledge

Master’s degree with an emphasis in chemistry or related field of study and one (1) year of related experience, OR

Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in chemistry or related field of study and three (3) years of related experience

Ability to safely compound with solvents, polymers, pigments and chemical additives and assess both their performance and processing requirements in formulation

Minimum of 2 years of experience running Gas Chromatographs, FTIR and other trace chemical gas detection equipment.

Perform or assist with equipment calibrations

Analyze gas samples in cylinders

Perform incoming quality control on raw materials.

Education and Experience: A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Chemistry, Bacteriology or a related field.

Licenses and Certificates: Texas Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent license issued by another state.

PhD (or equivalent experience) in analytical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, materials science, or a similar field of study.

Experience working in a semiconductor, MEMS, or other microfabrication setting
