JOB SUMMARY

Nabors is seeking a Chemist to join their rapidly growing Energy Transition Solutions team. This is a hands-on role requiring an understanding of basic laboratory procedures. The ideal candidate will have some experience with hydrogen, nanomaterials or carbon capture technologies. This individual will be working closely with other scientists and engineers in a rapidly evolving environment, so the ability to communicate and think creatively is critical. A broad understanding of many different technologies will be necessary to succeed in this role.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Attend and participate in group meeting
• Maintain accurate lab notebook records and file reports for experimental work
• Research new topics, scientific articles and patents using the internet
• Develop new ideas from proof of concept to feasibility and prototyping
• Preform routine laboratory procedures following established SOPs
• Use good hygiene and safe lab practices
• Maintain laboratory equipment and perform calibrations as needed
• Design and execute experiments using control and variable techniques

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Some mechanical aptitude
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as a team player
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related physical science field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Basic understanding of chromatography
• Ability to flourish as part of a multi-disciplinary team of researchers
• Some experience with analytical instruments
• Familiar with standard laboratory equipment
• Demonstrated initiative and ability to handle multiple tasks
• Hands-on synthetic experience in a lab environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS

• The primary location for this position is an office/laboratory environment.
• Able to lift up to 20 lbs.
