1. Job Summary:
The Youth Support Program Director oversees multiple youth services or youth program areas which may span across functional areas within the youth intervention services department. The incumbent is responsible for developing, delivering, and administering the varied program portfolios of all facility and community based youth support programming. The incumbent is responsible for recruiting, hiring, supervising, and developing team members.
2. Essential Functions:
· Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and develop team members and volunteers.
· Develop and manage multiple youth intervention services, programs and activities for all facility and community based programming.
· Build and maintain relationships with agency and community partners to advance the mission of the programs.
· Write and assemble grant proposals collaboratively working with Mission Advancement team if needed.
· Manage the requirements of established grant outcomes and provide required program data for local, state and federal program reports/evaluations.
· Manage the program budgets to assure that financial and program service goals are attained.
· Perform required administrative duties for the program.
· Communicate and interpret Youth Intervention Services programs, objectives, policies, and operating procedures to all department team members, volunteers and Y members and participants.
· Deliver a high level of service for all program participants.
· Participate in a staff leadership role for the Annual Campaign as defined by the Executive Director or Program Executive.
3. Relationships:
This position reports to the Program Executive. The incumbent interacts regularly with staff, members, and the community. This position requires regular interaction with youth, families, and community partners from a variety of diverse backgrounds.
4. Qualifications:
Required
· Bachelor’s degree in related field (Human Services, Social Work, Corrections or Youth Development) or equivalent relevant experience.
· Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a youth support setting preferably working with at-risk youth.
· Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience.
· Experience in managing state and federal funding streams for at-risk youth.
· Experience with case management of at-risk youth.
· Strong problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
· Demonstrated ability to collaborate with various groups to achieve a desired end result.
· Ability to develop and manage budgets.
· Must be organized, self-directed, and creative.
· Basic computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
· Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
· Must be certified in CPR/AED and First Aid Training, or able to become certified within the first 30 days of employment. (Training available upon employment)
Preferred
· Experience in fundraising
· Experience in grant writing
· Multilingual
5. Work Conditions:
· Must be able to travel within the Twin Cities to attend meetings.
· Ability to work on a computer for an extended period of time.
