Role Description
The Youth Program Supervisor will be responsible for the facilitation of quality youth programs, teen & family events, and special events. This includes designing programs, supervising activities, and training and leading a team of personnel ensuring safe, consistent, and high-quality supervision and guest service standards.
You will be expected to help fill in at the front desk as a greeter when needed and to learn operating systems for taking reservations and collecting payment for programming. You participate as a leader in building teamwork, effectiveness of services, and overall character of the resort experience. You will be encouraged to use your creativity, customer service skills, and childcare skills to help lead a team that our guests rely on to get the most out of every moment of their stay at Brasada. You will be expected to have the ability to hit the ground running and quickly become an expert on Brasada and all our offerings. Our guests want their entire family to be able to experience all the amazing options at Brasada, and the Youth Program Supervisor uses their creativity and resources to create special moments for our young guests.
General Responsibilities
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's experience at camp, including any issues or concerns that arise.
  • Facilitate group discussions and activities on topics such as teamwork, communication, and conflict resolution.
  • Maintaining accurate records of attendance, registration, waiver forms, and cashiering that satisfies administrative and accounting needs and used for statistical analysis and forecast/budget process.
  • Help develop, coordinate, and implement youth programs with an emphasis on fun & positive atmosphere while maintaining quality care and satisfaction.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of youth camp participants by maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
  • Assist with the selection and training of other camp staff.
  • Regularly promotes activities and programs by being knowledgeable of all outlets, upcoming activities, and special events. Must be able to positively respond to guest inquiries.
  • Serve as a positive ambassador and role model for youth of the resort.
  • Perform additional responsibilities and duties as assigned, including front desk reception, and providing breaks for the Front Desk team.
  • Responsible for planning, leading, and implementing core and non-core programs and experiences for children in a small group setting.
  • Maintain a clean and organized camp environment, including tidiness of the "Hideout" storage rooms, and common areas.
  • Responsible for tracking inventory for all programs on a weekly basis and coordinating ordering with the facility supervisor/manager.
  • Prepares youth programs for daily operations using daily checklist.
  • Responsible for daily facilitation of all recreation programs including youth camp programs, teen & family programming, and special events programming.
Skills/Traits
  • Positive, upbeat personality to interact with children of various ages.
  • Energetic, self-starter with strong work ethic
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Office equipment and proficient computer skills to include MS Excel, Outlook, Word & Publisher
  • Background or experience in seasonal and holiday recreational events and activities.
  • Strong background and experience in upscale customer service.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to command attention, project voice and speak clearly to large groups of people of all ages.
  • Knowledgeable in proper phone etiquette
  • Exhibit a high degree of competence with supporting the guest experience.
Other Requirements
  • Lifeguard Certification desired
  • Business, Recreation or Physical Education degree or equivalent experience
  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certification required
  • Ability to obtain OLCC Server's Permit
  • Babysitting certification strongly desired
  • Minimum of 2 years full-time supervisory experience in a related position
  • Ability to obtain Food Handlers Permit
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in educational, recreational, or related areas which include working with varied age children.
