Summary

- Conducts research and coordinates with other program offices to obtain information as needed.
- Prepares directives, policies, presentations, reports, white papers, memoranda and correspondence, findings, and responses to requests for information, as well as rewrites and/or edits materials drafted by OCHCO staff.
- Evaluates Human Capital documents and other materials for clarity, accuracy, and formatting.
- Provides technical expertise and analytical support to staff in developing various products for hard copy or electronic dissemination, to include doctrine, policy, plans, briefings, and high level correspondence.
- You must be able to obtain and maintain a Government credit card.
- You must successfully pass a background investigation.
- Current federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements.

- Selective Service registration required.
- Experience writing and editing materials tailored to specific media and audiences,
- Experience in coordinating product presentation, content, format, and organization for developing effective and accessible materials for approval and distribution, and
- Experience researching organizational guidelines, procedures, processes, and best practices in order to edit, write, and/or propose final products value and potential interest and deciding what to accept or reject.

- A one year probationary period is required for new Federal competitive service employees and new supervisors and managers.
- Due weight will be given to performance appraisals and incentive awards in merit promotion selection decisions in accordance with 5 CFR 335.103(b)(3).

Travel associated with the orientation portion of this requirement may be at FEMA’s expense.
