Within Gaming, we accomplish Microsoft’s mission in two ways:
  • Amplify the Xbox brand through our retail partners: Plan and execute thoughtful and impactful through-line-full-funnel-marketing, focused on driving purchase intent, conversion & post purchase advocacy and consumer lifetime value for Gaming devices, content, accessories, and services.
  • Drive consumer engagement and revenue at retail: Use consumer insights, market data, store level analysis, and sales information to evaluate our business performance and develop seasonal, launch, & sustain plans to improve our partners’ business, win share, sell units, and drive revenue.

How you can make an impact
As a Worldwide Gaming Category Manager for Xbox within CSO you will create the Worldwide Retail Strategy for Xbox Subscriptions, influencing future product plans and enabling the field by defining the category story, delivering regional insights, creating programs aligned to the business priorities, and setting/striving to achieve success metrics.


Responsibilities


Worldwide Gaming Subscriptions Performance

  • Own yearly Subscriptions budgeting process including regional and territory target setting, quarterly forecast beats, monthly business reviews and weekly performance reporting.
  • Drive regional accountability across both retail and direct channels for Subscription Metrics including Subscription revenue and Ending Balance (EB).
  • Drive alignment with regional needs and the Marketing Business group on demand planning

Worldwide Retail Strategy for Gaming Subscriptions

  • Develop global retail strategy for subscriptions in alignment with the full Gaming ecosystem of devices, services, content, and growth areas, developing fiscal year priorities to help regions execute aligned marketing plans, strategies, and campaigns.
  • Work with Product Marketing teams and regions to develop/maintain a Roadmap for product and retail programs, offers, and promotions across all markets to maximize sales.
  • Drive correction of errors (COE) efforts to respond to market dynamics.
  • Create Worldwide partner pitch materials for regions to deliver to retail and telco partners.

Drive Gaming Subscription Growth

  • Work with Growth Lead to drive strategy of new/strategic projects (e.g. Xbox All Access,) and growth of sales channels (e.g. Mobile operator) with Product Marketing and CSO regions including partner selection, onboarding, and tracking results, best practices, and learnings to help with the rollout of future partners
  • Assist regions in driving market expansion and the launching of new services or subscriptions.
  • Identify new opportunities and prioritize them according to their growth potential

Gaming Subscriptions Insights

  • Be the Voice of the Field, sharing regional insights based on in-store and online execution, customer/partner feedback, and regional market/industry trends, and impacting decisions in CSO, Gaming Marketing, and Gaming Engineering to influence Long Range Product Planning and Competitive Insights
  • Drive Category and Regional Insights, leveraging industry knowledge, channel insights, and customer understanding to drive strategic alignment, digital transformation, and land joint business objectives with regions and Product Marketing

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • OR Master's Degree in in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 1+ years experience in business
  • 2 + years experience in consumer electronics industry, gaming industry, retail category management, or subscription services.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 2+ years experience in business
    • OR Master's Degree in in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 1+ years experience in business
    • OR equivalent experience.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
  • Sharp analytical skills and acumen and can use to review and manage budgets, market data, and deal opportunities.
  • Experience planning and executing assortment plans, marketing strategies, and activities that drive business results.
  • Be a skillful leader, able to directly deliver and deliver thru influence of others - both internally at Microsoft and externally thru retail partners.
  • A character that exemplifies Microsoft values including integrity, honesty, openness, personal excellence, constructive self-criticism, and mutual respect.
  • Be a confident leader, representing your business in front of partners and stakeholders at all levels inside and outside Microsoft.
  • A successful track record in managing and transforming a consumer category, while meeting sales and profitability targets.
Product Marketing IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $80,900 - $162,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $105,300 - $176,900 per year.
