Womenswear Designer Jobs

Are you a NYC-based womenswear designer with exceptional design skills in an elevated aesthetic? Do you possess knowledge of the current womenswear market and identifying trends? Can you create innovative and commercially viable products from conception to completion?
If this sounds like you so far, then we want to hear from you! Our client is seeking a Womenswear Designer to join their team in a 3 month contract role, with possible full time conversion. In this role, you will be a lead amongst Designers and will be responsible for working with the Design Director in the design, creation and delivery of the line of designated brand right products that support strategic initiatives.
You Will:

• In-put Tech Packs into company-wide ERP (Exenta) system
• Be responsible for designing, sketching and developing ideas for multiple collections in designated brand/product area
• Research and identify emerging fashion trends and interpret those trends for each brand
• Perform daily follow up with factories on tech pack creation/revision/review and submit approvals
• Generate, update and recolor seasonal Cads for multiple brands
• Produce detailed tech packs and follow through the entire development of product from initial line to final pre-production samples
• Perform any other duties as assigned in support of the company needs and operations
• Interact with sales team to discuss design ideas
• Develop and maintain relations with sales, buying and production teams to ensure item suits customer, market and price points
• Review and approve labdips and strike off submits

You Have:

• Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks and workload seamlessly and follow-up
• Excellent written and verbal skills as required for effective interpersonal communication
• 6-8 years of experience in Design, including women's specific categories
• Self driven and experienced working in a fast-paced environment and ability to apply good work habits to effectively complete assigned tasks and contribute to the smooth operation of the company/department
• Proficient computer skills to include Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator & Photoshop), Microsoft Office, and Acrobat
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team under critical time frames
• Knowledge of fashion trends and general trends in color, fabric and style
• Expert knowledge of womanswear market- able to provide innovative and new concepts to build brand
• High creativity and artistic abilities, an eye for color, texture and pattern with keen attention to detail and ability to visualize in three dimensions
• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion or related area

Logistics:

• Onsite/offsite: 5 days a week in NYC
• Projected Start Date: As soon as the right candidate is identified
