Position Description
Lindsay Corporation has openings for a Welding Apprenticeship. Position will be located at the heart of Lindsay’s operation – the Lindsay Plant in Lindsay, NE.
- Employees work 25 hours, go to school for 7 hours, and get a 32-hour work week with full benefits.
- Starting wage is $19-$23 an hour based on experience and certification.
- If the apprentice leaves before 2 years of employment, they will be expected to pay Lindsey Welding back.
- With completion of the program and the beginning of full-time employment.
- Tuition Reimbursement following, probationary period.
Position Details
Program Length:
- AAS Hours- 655
- Probationary period 500 hours for both Diploma and AAS
- Diploma Hours- 740
Certificate:
- Production Welding Certificate
- Manual Welding Certificate
- Advanced Welding Certificate
Program Outcomes:
- Demonstrate welding skills and theory at entry- and advanced levels according to nationally recognized welding standards and codes.
- Work safely and independently with others
- Think critically, problem solve, and use creativity. Read and interpret welding drawings, and sketches.
Job Functions:
- Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
- Observing, receiving and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
- Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems
- Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events
- Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
On the Job Learning:
- Notify others of equipment repair or maintenance needs
- Operate welding equipment
- Maintain safety
- Watch operating equipment to detect malfunctions
- Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications
