In addition, we provide critical community services through a variety of programs, and at our four State Veterans Homes located in Orting, Port Orchard, Spokane, and Walla Walla. These locations provide Medicare and Medicaid nursing home care to honorably discharged veterans, including, in some instances, their spouses, widows, or Gold Star Families.

Lend direction to your patients here, as well as a caring attitude. Your vital knowledge and experience will enhance our veteran residents lives and connect your goals through our mission of "Serving Those Who Served" with the Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs.
Some of what you will be doing:
- Under physicians' orders, passes medications, administer, monitor and record treatments, and assesses the condition of the resident.
- Makes nursing assessments of residents as necessitated by the condition of the resident, and on a quarterly basis for the completion of the minimum data set (MDS).
- Direct and supervise subordinate nursing personnel.
- Prepares, carries out, evaluates, and revises treatment plans for individual residents based on recommendations of a physician.
- Under direction supervision of a physician or supervising nurse, and in accordance with current standards of practice, functions as a responsible licensed member of a health care team, primarily as the charge nurse for the assigned area.
Required:
Current and valid Washington State License to practice as a Registered Nurse.
Desired:
- One year experience as a RN.
- Long term care experience.

- Positions requiring travel must have a valid unrestricted driver's license and must be insured if driving a privately owned vehicle on state business.

- Candidates who are offered a job with WDVA must possess work authorization which does not require sponsorship by the employer for a visa now or in the future.

- Must comply with health screening requirements by undergoing a tuberculosis skin test.
