Role Summary

The Warranty and Repair Administrator II works with internal and external vendors to develop solutions to ensure that quality and timely repairs are completed on rotable components to best support the fleet at Horizon Air. As an individual contributor, this role is responsible for ensuring that warranties, expenses, vendors, and stock are well managed for both scheduled and unscheduled repairs. This role also makes recommendations to improve these processes and develops solutions to the complex problems associated with cost control and vendor support associated with component repair and warranty.

Key Duties

  • Provide a daily brief of material shortages, MEL component requirements, delay and AOG events from prior day that are material related.
  • Perform regular vendor reviews to ensure turn-around time, cost and reliability goals are met as well as contract performance.
  • Interface with the maintenance, engineering, planning, stores, and reliability departments to reduce cost, improve performance, recommend component stagger requirements, and facilitate work scope compliance.
  • Take initiative to develop solutions to ensure that warranties, expenses, vendors, and stock are well managed for both scheduled and unscheduled repairs and ensure that quality and timely repairs are completed on rotable components to best support the fleet.
  • Proactively support heavy check material needs to ensure material is on hand to support planned dwell time.
  • Respond to AOG (aircraft on ground) material requirements on an expedited basis for repair material, including evaluating potential exchange and loan options to minimize out of service events.
  • Generate, submit, and track warranty claims for the purpose of ensuring compensations are received in a timely manner.
  • Act as the company liaison between the maintenance department and approved MRO (maintenance repair organization) for the timely, economical, and reliable repair of our rotable component inventory.
  • Apply knowledge of warranty terms and contracts to review repair quotes for accuracy, consistency, work scope adherence and warranty adjudication.
  • With limited direction from leadership, work independently to review open repair orders and expedite/exception reports on a regular basis to ensure an adequate number of spares are consistently on hand.
  • Facilitate the RFQ (request for quote) and vendor review process when onboarding new vendors or negotiating contract extensions.
  • Work to resolve incoming paperwork discrepancies with repair vendors in a timely manner.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • 2 years of experience in materials, supply chain, vendor management, aviation maintenance, or related area.
  • Experience with aircraft parts, repairs, and parts certification requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with maintenance personnel and outside vendors.
  • Knowledge of Airline System Regulations and FAA policies as it pertains to aircraft material.
  • Experience negotiating pricing from respective vendors.
  • Minimum age of 18.

Preferred

  • Experience using TRAX software.
  • Ability to interpret IPC (illustrated parts catalog), AMM (aircraft maintenance manuals), and CMM’s (component maintenance manuals).
  • Experience using Tableau Software.

Salary Range

$49,000 - $73,400 / year

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees.
