What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health
Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.
Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers.
What Operations Management contributes to Cardinal Health
The Manager, Warehouse Operations Outbound oversees the building’s inbound processing, including receiving, put away, and returns to achieve operational efficiency and safety. Through successful operational and people management, this job delivers on the business unit’s short-term goals, improves profitability, and develops the business unit’s warehouse talent. This job also responds to urgent customer needs or supply disruptions to ensure customer commitments are fulfilled.
Responsibilities
- Enforce Cardinal Health compliance and regulations for OSHA, DEA, FDA, state and local authorities, primary facility contact for QRA compliance
- Provide leadership to the team and challenge the status quo; interact with employees on the floor and in an office setting
- Cultivate positive relationships with peers and coworkers
- Lead initiatives designed to improve processes or continuous improvement projects throughout the facility
- Manage the distribution operation utilizing appropriate systems to track, analyze and improve day to day operational metrics
- Interface with customers and suppliers to resolve issues and participate in regularly scheduled meetings (this may include travel up to 5%)
- Influence and understand the business and culture strategy and translate the strategy into executable initiatives for their department
- Interview and make hiring decisions for supervisor, lead and niche roles
- Develop the supervisory and employee population, which includes training, coaching, counseling and performance appraisals
- Hold Supervisors accountable for their respective department KPI’s
- Ensure the timely distribution and receipt of product while meeting the distribution center standards of budget, policies, procedures and quality
- Collaborate with cross functional teams at all levels within the organization, specifically within HR groups on a daily basis
- Lead and direct a Supervisory team of 3-5 direct reports and 55-60 indirect associates
- Manage site financial metrics including profit and loss and budgets
Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Adaptable to operational needs
- 5+ years of relevant experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel
- Ability to problem solve through complex scenarios and drive change
- Experience working within a warehouse (or distribution) environment preferred
- Prior leadership experience required
- Inventory planning and processing experience preferred
- Prior experience with continuous improvement projects and initiatives
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent work experience
- Experience working within ERP’s SAP preferred

Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 12:00pm start - completion
Anticipated Salary: $92,100-$131,500
