Responsibilities
Strategy and Planning:
- Scale Underwriting Service Operations by aligning transactional / core operations activities to standardize BU ops without losing specialty focus or quality.
- Recommend and lead the strategy and planning for UW Service Operations organization to unite the underwriting operations groups to align with the overall strategy of AINA Operations.
- Partner with Strategic Operations Management, Process Excellence, Strategic Portfolio Management and other applicable teams to adopt solutions that drive efficiency, customer centricity and improve underwriter capacity.
- Analyze performance metrics and OKRs across the UW Service organization to drive operational performance
- Establish Standard Work in partnership with Operations Leadership (Process Excellence [Lean CoE] ) and drive adoption of lean practices, including cultural changes, across the UW operations org
- Identify opportunities to streamline underwriting service processes, reduce turnaround times, and enhance operational efficiency
- Drive labor arbitrage and sourcing opportunities in partnership with the Shared Services function to reduce Total Cost of Service
- Set goals and action plans to ensure operational standards are being met in alignment with the AINA business strategy
- Oversee the Underwriting Service Operations budget, optimize costs, and allocate resources effectively
- Ensure underwriting service practices comply with company policies, industry regulations, and relevant compliance standards
- Identifying skillsets in competencies and drive the improvement to enhance both transactional and complex service delivery of accounts
- Develop diverse groups of teams, including Property, Casualty, Large Account Casualty, Middle Market and Multinational Lines, Captive, Financial/Professional lines, and Consumer Lines Operations
- Manage multiple teams led by Managers and/or Supervisors.
- Build operational capabilities to drive UW Service Operations performance
Individual:
- Service-oriented focus and ability to drive a consistently positive engagement for internal and external customers.
- Strong analytical and leadership skills with proven experience leading diverse, high-performing teams
- Possess a continuous improvement mindset and familiarity with Lean principles in order to recommend significant improvements to our processes and service
- Advanced team management and excellent leadership abilities, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture
- Extensive experience in Underwriting Operations, with a history of progressive leadership responsibilities
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with senior management, clients and team members
- Dedicated to providing excellent customer service and addressing client needs promptly
- Broad management and leadership knowledge to lead multiple product lines units
- 12 years prior experience in Insurance Operations role
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred
- Self-starter demonstrating flexibility, accountability, and adaptability.
- Proficiency with all Arch systems and a solid understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel is required
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must demonstrate proficiency in Teamwork and Interpersonal Skills, Communication, Technical, and Organization, Problem Solving and Service Skills

The above range may be modified in the future
