The Vice President, Publicity Awards will work with an internal team and consultants to manage and execute all aspects of strategic awards campaigns for Focus Features titles on a year-round basis. Position will liaise with Publicity, Events, Corporate, Creative, and other cross-divisional areas. The ideal candidate must have a creative and strategic background with more than 5 years of experience working on all facets of awards campaigns.


Essential Responsibilities


  • Develop strategies in partnership with Publicity, Marketing, Media and Events teams.
  • Strategically develop narratives that serve Awards campaign goals. Identify ways to heighten contenders profiles, strategize around campaign opportunities and execute on niche market tactics.
  • Collaborate with International Publicity and Marketing teams to create and execute International Awards strategy; oversee International Awards consultants
  • Manage Awards campaign budgets.
  • Must have strong Press relationships with awards pundits and consumer press. Work closely with Film Leads to pitch editorial features and manage press relationships throughout awards season.
  • Lead media strategy working with the internal publicity team for Awards campaigns across various guilds and organizations
  • Manage and oversee all Awards office duties including but not limited to: Awards submissions, FYC screenings and invitations, distribution and calendar of digital and physical communications, distribution of key awards materials including screening links, physical DVDs and their packaging, streaming or physical music materials, mailers.
  • Oversee and manage all awards consultants.
  • Collaborate with multiple divisions (Publicity, Content, Creative & Media) to successfully target guild memberships, media contacts & influencers and ensure messaging and positioning is consistent across all departments.
  • Oversee strategy and execution of bespoke Awards campaigns across multiple voting bodies including but not limited to: the AMPAS, Golden Globes, Critics’ Choice Awards, regional critics groups and all guilds.


Qualifications


  • Must be a team player who is able to work in an open and collaborative environment
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and ability to pay attention to details under deadline pressure
  • Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with talent, senior executives and peers
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
  • Experience managing a team, both directly or indirectly
  • Motivated and passionate professional who is able to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
  • Experience in running a detailed budget across awards initiatives.

  • Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice
