Overview And Responsibilities

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Vice President of Infrastructure and Cloud Operations with extensive experience in transitioning a primarily OnPrem Infrastructure to a Cloud provider who will be responsible for the management and monitoring services. This leadership role will be instrumental in driving the strategic planning, execution, and management of our organization's migration, optimization, and operational excellence of our Infrastructure and our transition to a cloud platform. The successful candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding and proven experience in large-scale enterprise Infrastructure transformation to the Cloud, a passion for innovation and cost savings, and experience in building a compelling ROI to show the benefits of Cloud platforms.

• Be a technical consultant for application project teams by collaborating closely with the other technology groups to develop the end-to-end solution architecture, including application, data, integration, security, and infrastructure domains
• Collaborate with Information Security to establish best practices for cloud security, compliance, and disaster recovery
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Proven abilities to work in multiple Cloud platforms and proven record of handling multi-million project initiatives
• Drive skill development initiatives and technical certification programs to enhance the team's proficiency
• Build and mentor a high-performing IT Operations Team, along with cloud architects, engineers, and operations specialists
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure Cloud initiatives align with business goals
• Provide strategic direction, coaching, and growth opportunities to team members, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration
• Own the design and hands-on development of significant architecture, frameworks, and components of cloud-based Platform as a Service (PaaS) that abstracts the underlying infrastructure for the applications
• Lead incident response and problem-solving efforts, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal impact on operations
• Oversees the Disaster Recovery Plan, performing IT application risk analysis and mitigation planning incorporating Asset Management, Security, and Infrastructure domain, building and successfully testing the DR Plan on a bi-yearly basis
• Communicate key business benefits and implications of technology decisions and outcomes to business portfolio leaders and senior executive management
• Develop and drive architectures that will enable applications to have high availability, performance, seamless integration (loosely coupled), high quality, reliability, and user-driven reporting and analytics capabilities
• Collaborate with the CIO and IT Management Team to define a clear road-map for the organization's cloud transformation journey
• Provide technical expertise in selecting appropriate cloud-based services, ensuring optimal utilization and cost efficiency
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to refactor applications for cloud PaaS and IaaS deployment models

• Implement and promote automation, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (IaC) practices for efficient cloud operations
• Define migration strategies, conduct impact assessments, and lead execution to ensure successful cut-over
• Develop and maintain operational frameworks for cloud services, including monitoring, performance optimization, and cost management

• Lead the evaluation of existing infrastructure and applications, identifying opportunities for migration, consolidation, and modernization
• Develop a comprehensive cloud strategy aligned with the organization's business objectives, focusing on innovation, agility, and cost optimization, security, high availability, and scalability
• Cultivate and manage relationships with cloud partners and representatives
• Oversee the seamless migration of on-premises workloads and applications to cloud services, managing risks and minimizing disruptions
• Communicate progress, challenges, and achievements to executive leadership and the broader organization

Qualifications

Required Education And/or Experience

• Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering large-scale Cloud transformation, required
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business, or other related field or extensive equivalent work experience
• Experience with IT Operations/Infrastructure, Cloud architecture, migration, and operations, with a deep focus on Cloud transitions , required

Preferred Education And/or Experience

• Cloud certifications for any of the large cloud providers, preferred (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google, IBM, Oracle, etc.)
• Experience managing up to 6 direct reports, and up to 40 in-direct staff members
• Experience as an IT Operations Leader in a national Healthcare company with many locations, with experience in highly regulated environments including HIPAA, PHI, PCI, NIST, CIS, HiTech, IOS, ZTA, etc.
• Experience with microservices and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS, AKS, etc.)
• Understanding of cloud governance, security, compliance, and identity management
• Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps services and practices in the Cloud environment, including CICD pipelines
• Experience addressing operational and non-functional concerns (e.g. horizontal & vertical scalability, performance, maintainability, load distribution, resilience and recovery, etc.)
• Experience in building Cloud based Platform as a Service that is Cloud Infrastructure provider agnostic
