Overview
Reporting directly to the SVP, Leadership & Organizational Development, DEI, & Community Impact, the Vice President of Leadership Devlopment builds, analyzes, and continuously improves leadership and executive development enterprise strategy and supporting infrastructure across Burlington. Develop, lead, and enable holistic, company-wide strategies designed to deliver leadership development related initiatives and processes related to organizational design, performance management, succession planning, key talent/high-potential development, executive development & coaching, change management, and strategic talent planning. Leads projects, programs & processes with significant cross-functional business impact.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Drive the continued transition to, and then sustaining, a performance-based culture that values and enables continuous learning.
  • Evaluates and develops leadership development strategies, initiatives, and programs. Coaches and mentors team members and identifies training needs and approves development plans.
  • Enhance the caliber of leadership at all levels of the organization through development initiatives and coaching.
  • Influences change at the top levels of the organization, gaining stakeholder support, developing process, and leading organizational change.
  • Ensures that development strategies are designed to achieve business goals and ultimately leads to stronger capabilities of all associates and a deeper talent bench.
  • Partners with business and HR leadership to identify and develop talent gap strategies related to organizational design, performance management, leadership development, and succession planning. Plan processes and execute deliverables to support critical business initiatives.
  • Creates a leadership development strategy for the organization and ensures implementation and measurement of objectives.
  • Lead with an inclusive and innovative mindset to bring Burlington’s vision and values to life for our leaders and managers.
  • Bring in external best and next practices to inform and shape Burlington’s approaches to executive, director and manager development.
  • Builds a team of highly engaged team of professionals through frequent coaching and feedback.
  • Work with vendors and inhouse teams to design and deliver compelling and relevant talent-related solutions for the business.
  • Builds strategic partnerships across various business units.
  • Required to identify research and resolve complex issues and provide comprehensive solutions to organizational challenges.
  • Expertise in data gathering, analysis, and evaluation of programming.

  • Retail Industry experience preferred
Educational/Previous Experience Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in leadership development experience required; experience in retail preferred.
  • 3-5+ years executive leadership experience with an established track record of successfully building and leading teams to execute enterprise strategy related to organizational design, performance management, succession planning, key talent/high-potential development, executive development & coaching, change management, and strategic talent planning.
