As the Vice President of Global Category Management, you will play a crucial role in shaping our strategic direction and driving growth by overseeing and optimizing our category management initiatives worldwide.


Job Summary:

The Vice President of Global Category Management will be responsible for leading and developing our global category management function. This role requires a highly skilled and experienced professional who can effectively manage a diverse portfolio of categories, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive category performance improvements on a global scale.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership:
  • Develop and execute the global category management strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior executives to establish category goals, performance metrics, and success criteria.
  • Lead a team of category managers and specialists, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
  1. Global Category Management:
  • Identify and evaluate market trends, emerging technologies, and industry innovations to proactively identify opportunities and risks.
  • Define and implement best practices for global category management, including category segmentation, sourcing strategies, supplier relationship management, and cost optimization.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure effective coordination and alignment across multiple regions, business units, and stakeholders.
  1. Supplier Management and Negotiations:
  • Drive continuous improvement in supplier selection, evaluation, and qualification processes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier performance.
  • Conduct supplier assessments, including supplier capabilities, capacity, quality, and financial stability, to ensure a reliable supply base.
  1. Performance Optimization:
  • Implement data-driven insights and analytics to drive informed decision-making and enhance category performance.
  • Monitor and analyze category performance, identifying areas for improvement, cost savings, and risk mitigation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement initiatives for product innovation, quality improvement, and value engineering.
  1. Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies in all category management activities.
  • Establish robust processes for supplier diversity, sustainability, and ethical sourcing.
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with supplier performance, geopolitical factors, market volatility, and supply chain disruptions.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of market trends, industry best practices, and emerging technologies related to category management.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proven track record of at least [X] years in strategic category management, preferably on a global scale.
