Visual Designer - Freelance [Remote]

• LOCATION: Remote - United States only (TimeZone:EST | Full day overlap)
• ESTIMATED DURATION: 40h/week - Short term
• HOURLY RANGE: Our client is looking to pay $80 – $87/hr
• JOB TYPE: Freelance, Contract Position (no agencies/C2C - see notes below)

THE OPPORTUNITY
Qualifications

• Experience with animation, motion design and dynamic interactions
• Experience working on digital products and/or with Product Designers
• At least 5 years of digital Graphic/Visual Design experience, preferably in a creative digital agency setting working on digital products
• Superb visual and conceptual skills to solve problems and create novel solutions
• Expert knowledge of Graphic Design Software (i.e. Adobe Suite - Illustrator, In Design, Photoshop)
• We would prefer if you had these skills as well
• Typeface and or illustration design skills

Projects you will work on:

• Produce iconography assets extending an existing concept on multiple platforms/products per their visual language
• Establish new typography styles
• Create visual/ art direction defining grids, layouts, colors, rules to establish a digital product brand visual language with clear principles/ rationale

What a Week Might Look Like

• Working closely with your Product Design peers, you will establish a brief and a plan for your work
• You will work solo producing art direction concepts, visual style guidelines and assets pushing craft quality
• You will autonomously onboard to different visual and brand systems to understand and extend the product visual languages / styles
• You will manage/present to multiple stakeholder explaining context, strategy, rationale of visual choices and iterate on your work
• You will frequently check in with your Product Design peers and share progress

What Skills You Will Need

• Self-organization, ability to prioritize tasks, communicate progress, manage expectations and meet deadlines
• A solid foundation in design, layout, color and typography to art direct digital assets
• Excellent visual, written and verbal communication/presentation skills
• Prior experience with motion graphics work
• Great artworking skills for creating 2D digital assets / iconography
• Understanding and extending brand/product visual languages
