Our Impact

The Impact team has fundraised $1.5M+ for social causes and organizations like the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, Ukrainian Refugees, and COVID-19 relief. With many of our content pieces, we aim to provide our readers with action items, directing hundreds of thousands of petition signatures to important causes such as Act for Antonio, Abortion Access, Justice for George Floyd, and many more.

Impact is looking for a video editor who can create unique digital video content for short form vertical platforms! As we often work with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment, we’re searching for someone who is creative, enthusiastic and detail-oriented. You should be a TikTok fanatic and obsessed with the latest trends online.

Requirements

You will…

• Have the opportunity to create content that raises awareness and action
• Create meaningful short-form, vertical video content for our platform of over 3 million followers such as environmental justice, LGBTQ+ rights, mental health, and more
• Contribute to creating a more diverse and equitable media landscape
• Implement social media trends into video editing to create viral content that educates
• Work with creators to elevate their work

Responsibilities

• Project Management: Manage multiple video editing projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to deadlines. Prioritize tasks effectively, and communicate any potential roadblocks or challenges to the team
• Asset Management: Organize and maintain a library of video assets, including raw footage, graphics, sound effects, and music, ensuring they are easily accessible and properly backed up for future use
• Content Creation: Collaborate with Impact’s creative team to brainstorm and develop innovative video concepts that resonate with the target audience and reflect current trends and popular topics
• Trend Awareness: Stay up-to-date with the latest video trends, styles and techniques, as well as following popular content and content creators on Instagram and TikTok. Continuously research and identify new opportunities for content creation and engagement
• Video Editing: Create and assemble short-form videos for Instagram and TikTok, ensuring they are visually appealing, engaging, and aligned with the company’s brand and style guidelines

Requirements

Don't worry if you don't fulfill all these bullet points - we're mainly looking for growth-oriented and driven people to join our team! If you have the basics down, please apply. The quality of video editing in your portfolio is the largest determining factor in our decision for this role.

The ideal candidate will have the following in their background…

• Proficiency in video editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve
• 1-3 years experience in video editing for short-form video for social media)
• Experience in other video editing softwares such as CapCut

Role logistics:

The compensation for this role will be $17 - $35/hour, the range depends on a variety of including but not limited to these factors: experience level, educational qualifications, skill set,, proven track record, location, leadership capabilities. Furthermore, we also consider the current market rates for similar roles in comparable companies. Our goal is to provide a fair and competitive compensation that reflects the value and expertise each individual brings to our organization.

This role requires you to work 20-30 hours each week.
